Hazelwood Logistics Center Wins Regional Award
On March 22nd the St. Louis Business Journal hosted their 2018 Building St. Louis Awards. The awards recognize outstanding renovations and developments that have had an impact in their communities. Projects were nominated form across the St. Louis region, from O’Fallon, MO to O’Fallon, IL. They were grouped into six categories based on type of development and amount of investment.
The Hazelwood Logistics Center (HLC) industrial park was one of three winners in the “Public/private project more than $10 million” category. HLC was foreclosed on and in need of environmental clean-up. NorthPoint Development, from the Kansas City area, purchased the park in 2015. Since that time they have cleaned up the contamination and constructed six large industrial buildings. The final two buildings will be completed this spring. Tenants at HLC include Amazon’s first two Missouri facilities, Quiet Logistics and Bunzl. NorthPoint will soon begin development of their second project, Hazelwood Trade Port. This will be a large industrial park, similar to HLC, behind Park 370.
Nathaniel Hagedorn, NorthPoint CEO, called the award a “well-deserved recognition for the City of Hazelwood.” He added that, “the City of Hazelwood has been an outstanding partner, terrifically responsive and a true partner to help grow the economic base of the City.” Brent Miles of NorthPoint noted the “unbelievable turn around HLC has seen over the last two years and to win the award was a great way to recognize the project.”
